My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cornbread, the friendliest “security guard” of all time.

Cornbread is named after a character in Sinners who did a spectacularly bad job keeping vampires out. The name fits. If Cornbread were on door duty, he would hold it open, wag his tail, and politely invite everyone inside. He greets strangers like long-lost friends and has never met a person he didn’t adore. He’s not sure if he’s ever met an actual vampire, but he’s pretty confident he’d adore them too. Because, why not?
He is currently receiving heartworm treatment and is taking the extra rest in stride. More quiet hugs? More gentle attention? Cornbread is very pleased with this arrangement.
If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming, people-loving companion who believes hospitality is a lifestyle, not a hobby, come meet Cornbread at the Fredericksburg SPCA. He can’t wait to let you in.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is easy! No home visits, no reference checks. We have many dogs and cats available for adoption.
Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip & registration, basic vaccines, rabies vaccine (4 months and older), age-appropriate blood testing (6 months and older), flea/tick/heartworm treatments, and deworming.
As a non-profit organization, our adoption fees help us to offset some of these costs.

Note - you must be 18 years or older to adopt.
