My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cloud ☁️ a gorgeous 2-year-old Blue Heeler with a whole lot of personality and love to give! This smart, beautiful girl is your classic heeler—independent, loyal, and always ready for adventure. She’s an alpha female who does well with other dogs and even cats when introduced slowly and respectfully.

True to her breed, she’s full of energy and enthusiasm. Whether she’s zooming around the yard or proudly destroying her favorite stuffed toys, she’s happiest when she’s playing and engaging with her people.

Because she thrives with clear boundaries and understanding, she’s looking for a home without young children. She does great with older, respectful kids who will give her space and allow her to come to them on her own terms.

Ideal Home:
✨ Patient and confident owner who can help her feel safe and secure
✨ Someone willing to give her time to bond and trust at her pace
✨ Active home where she can burn both her physical and mental energy
✨ Breed experience is a big plus—this girl knows what she wants and loves someone who understands her

If you’re looking for a loyal, fun, and spirited companion and appreciate the quirks and brilliance of the heeler breed, Cloud ☁️ might just be your perfect match. 🐾💙

Clouds adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website. www.northernlakesrescue.org

Additional adoption info

Northern Lakes Rescue wants to make adopting your next pet the best experience you have in adopting a pet. When you see a animal you are interested, in we encourage you to email us at info@northernlakesrescue.org with what dog you are interested in.

NLR is 100% volunteer run, and we do our best to respond within 48 hours to all email inquiries regarding adoptions.

All adoptions will require an application, home visit, personal and vet references and a meet and greet. Our adoption fees range from $300-425 depending on the dog.
All dogs over 6 months of age will be spay/neutered, vaccinated to age and micro-chipped. Puppies being adopted will require a spay/neuter and vaccine contract.

Finalizing an adoption includes signing a contract and paying the adoption fee.

Go meet their pets

Northern Lakes Rescue is foster based so all dogs are being fostered by amazing volunteers across the state of MN. Because of this, we require all meet and greets to be scheduled after an application is submitted.

Our focus after you apply is to get you scheduled to meet the dog within 3 to 7 days.

More about this rescue

Our Vision is to be a voice for those who are voiceless. We hear them with our hearts and give them a voice. Looking into the eyes of a rescued animal will speak volumes; watching those eyes light up will have an everlasting impact on you and the rescued animals.

We aren’t a typical rescue as we don’t take in dogs and put them in kennels until they’re adopted. All dogs we rescue are placed in loving foster homes that teach them to be the best dog they can be.

Our journey doesn’t end with adoption, either. We are here for you to support you in integrating your new member into your home, cheer new triumphs, and help with struggles.
