Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Little Brother sure can use a human Mama or Papa to show him the way and make him feel safe again. This precious peanut is a 10-year old, 16-pound Chihuahua/Terrier mix who has so much love in his heart, but is too shut down right now to truly express it.
Adorable, mellow, and quiet, Little Brother is currently most comfortable in his crate, which is where he spends most of his time. He appears to have good leash manners and is verrrry slowly getting over his fear of venturing outside, one ‘lil paw at a time. Little Brother seems interested in other dogs, but hasn’t yet had the opportunity to engage.
A fan of boiled chicken, Little Brother is a pretty good eater, and will take treats as long as he deems them acceptable. OK, buddy…you win…you can have a bite of my chicken cutlet!
Little Brother is trying so hard to be brave, and every day, you can see signs of progress. He hasn’t played with toys or allowed for much affection yet, but every now and again, when he thinks no one is looking, Little Brother briefly checks out his surroundings as if to say: Hello there, humans…just give me some time to become more confident and trusting…’cause if you let me go at my own pace, I promise I’ll get there and it’ll be sooo worth the wait!
If sad and scared dogs pull at your heartstrings, please consider offering Little Brother the gift of love, loyalty, and patience…in a home of his very own. He WILL come around…and what a beautiful act of kindness it will be giving this deserving small-fry a most extraordinary second chance.

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 4,500 dogs and cats since 2015.
PupStarz Rescue is a foster-based rescue, relying on fosters to open their homes and lives to our Animals. Animals in our care receive proper medical care, including alteration, vaccinations, and microchipping.
Following a thorough screening, our animals are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.
We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.
Founded in 2015, PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization.
