My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.

---

- A real cuddler who crawls into his foster family's arms every night for snuggles; also quite the couch potato

- Favorite toys are plushies, and his foster family said he's very gentle with them and does not destroy them; does get the zoomies and loves running around, so a fenced yard would be great for him

- Has been very respectful when his foster family is gone and just plays with his toys or naps

- Does well with a harness on walks

- Knows sit, shake and stay, and he's an expert at catching treats; his foster family said they also just taught him spin and up (stand on his back legs)

- Has been 98% potty trained in his foster home

- Is good in the car for short periods, but his foster family said he may get anxious if the car ride is a longer one

- His favorite treats are meaty ones, and his foster family said he has not begged for food in their home

- His foster family has had visitors, and he has done very well with them and has been sweet toward new people in general; they said he seems comfortable in a busy home and has been spoiled by everyone

- Little kids may not be the best match for him, and we think he'll be happiest in a more mature home

- Can be a linebacker-type player with other dogs, which some dogs may not appreciate; his foster family said he's been good about ignoring other dogs on walks (dog intro required)

- Needs a home with no cats or small pets

- May have allergies (more info at ARL)

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
