My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Personality: affectionate, playful
Breed: lab/cattle dog
Age: 1-2 years
Weight:  45lbs
Sex: female

Rescued from Central Valley

  • Smart, affectionate, loves human attention, on occasion skittish at first but warms up quickly
  • Loves squeaky toys, tug a war and is obsessed with squirrels.
  • Does the happy dance for walks. Would love an active owner for walks, hike or running.
  • Sleeps well in crate but prefers to be with her human.
  • Very good with house training (no accidents, but has access to backyard)
  • Food motivated
  • Nervous (shakes) in the car while driving but is getting better.
  • Working on leash manners, pulls a bit

If you are interested in adopting this dog please visit this link to get the adoption process started.

We hold adoption events from San Francisco to the South Bay. Most dogs will be ready to go home the day of the adoption event. We accept credit cards and cash for our adoption fees. While adoption events are a great showcase for these amazing dogs, you don't need an adoption event to adopt a dog.  Check out our adoptable pups, submit an application, and then meet them at their foster home!

We try to post the dogs that are attending on Facebook before the event, please visit and like us on Facebook.

More about this rescue

Copper's Dream Animal Rescue focuses its work on pulling dogs from high kill shelters like Bakersfield, where 50% of the 500 new dogs taken in every week are put down. We spay and neuter these animals, get them up to date on vaccinations, and then house them until loving, permanent homes can be found. To learn more or donate, visit: www.coppersdream.org.

What does the adoption fee cover? Vaccinations, spay/neuter, usually kennel cough treatment, any other medical issues and transportation and/or boarding fees if necessary. Every dollar of your adoption fee goes toward the care and treatment of our dogs.
