My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everybody! My name's Marley ('Minion' in Mexico) and here's more info on me!

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Lab/Shepherd mix (best guess!)

  • Age: approx. 1 year 2 months

  • Gender: Male

  • Weight: 55lbs (25 kg)

  • Current Location: Baja California, Mexico

RESCUE STORY - I am a rescue warrior pup! I came into the shelter with my 4 siblings and at the time we all tested positive for Parvo...gulp! Sadly all of the pups, with the exception of me, did not make it. After a rigorous treatment plan by a friendly veterinarian, I was able to make a full recovery and now I am big, strong and thriving!

TEMPERAMENT - I am a very sweet and playful pup and the hoomans at the shelter describe me as being very curious and affectionate. I enjoy playing (a lot!!) with balls and other toys as well as interacting with people. I get along GREAT with the other doggies at the rescue, both big and small, and I play very nicely with them. I am a real gentleman! I am a lot of fun to have around, and I am super loving and love to show this to the hoomans around me. I think people are just the best! I am a very gentle pup and I am very motivated to please those around me.

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – I have been tested with older kiddos as you can see here

  • Dogs – Yep! I live at a shelter around lots of other doggos!

  • Cats – Unknown (but testing can be requested)

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – I'm pretty calm and collected as you can see in my video! Additional training and patience may be required when I get to Canada

  • House trained –  Not yet so I may need some additional training and patience!

  • Crate trained –  Not yet crate trained and I may need some additional training and patience.

  • Car rides – Not sure, I may need some additional training and patience.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I have been neutered and am current on all my vaccinations including monthly flea/tick medication and I will be microchipped before I leave the centre.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD ($750.00 + PST and GST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
