Andy is our one year old Texas prince, who has been overlooked in our kennel since late October! Some dogs just get "stuck." Andy is such a great dog-- he is everyone's best buddy (as you can see in his pics and videos)! He is the Mayor of the Kennel. He is our helper dog, meaning he is a dog who gets along with any dog and who we use to test our other dogs with. He is so much fun to watch in playgroup and happy to hang with any of his pals, any time, whether it is romping around and running up and down the agility equipment or chilling on the couch or in his kennel.
Andy is quiet and calm in his kennel, and he has not had an accident in his kennel since the first day or two he arrived (but he may have an accident upon transitioning to a brand new place). Andy still has some puppy habits and needs to be redirected at times, but it is silly mischief like getting into the bin with all of the dog sweaters and coats and tossing them all around the room! When Andy is in puppy mode, we simply shout, "Andrew!!!" and he stops. (No but seriously, we do call him Andrew when needed, and he responds to it!). Andy is very redirectable and super treat motivated, so he is easy to train! He loves to focus on his handler; he is very smart. Andy already knows "sit" and "down"! He has mastered these commands, and is so proud when he gets to show off his tricks.
Andy has fun wherever he goes, and he always makes the best of things. In addition to dogs and people, Andy loves snow, swimming, and he even doesn't mind dressing up - he will happily accept a sweater, hoodie, or bow tie to wear and he looks handsome in them, too.
He’s playful, curious, and full of life — the kind of dog who reminds you to slow down, laugh more, and enjoy the little things. Whether he’s chasing a ball, curling up for a nap, or trotting proudly by your side, Andy does it all with joy and love.
Andy is a young pup who has come of age in a shelter, albeit he is now in a very nice one! But he is so ready to hang up his shelter dog hat and trade in that life for a home where he can finally settle in and be loved.
Andy’s adoption fee has been generously sponsored! This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
