My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾💖 Meet Coco Lopez — The Sweet, Blossoming Bulldog Beauty! 💖🐾
Introducing Coco Lopez, a 2–3 year old, 50-pound tan-and-white bulldog mix with the kind of charm that sneaks up on you and steals your heart before you know it. From her adorable underbite to her expressive ears and slightly bushy tail, this girl is pure delight.
When Coco first arrived at the shelter, she was timid — and who could blame her? But with patience, kindness, and time, she has absolutely blossomed. Now she greets the world with gentle curiosity, soft tail wags, and a growing confidence that’s beautiful to witness.
🌟 Why Coco Lopez Is Amazing:
• Mellow little explorer: She walks beautifully on leash and loves taking in the sights with her calm, thoughtful energy.
• Dog-friendly: Coco seems to enjoy other dogs and is open to lively, higher-energy play — meet & greets required to ensure the perfect fit!
• Not a cat fan: She’s a little too interested in feline friends, so a cat-free home is best.
• Smart, motivated girl: She’s very treat driven (just don’t make her wait too long!) and already knows sit and come.
• A total glow-up: It’s incredible to see how far she’s come — from unsure and timid to tail-wagging, people-loving, joyful cutie.
• Unique looks: Those amazing ears, that precious underbite, and her fluffy tail? She’s a stunner with personality to match.
Coco Lopez is gentle, sweet, and ready for a home that will continue helping her shine. With love and stability, she’s sure to become the loyal, affectionate companion of your dreams.
🏡 Coco Lopez is available now through Hopewell Animal Services — come meet this wonderful girl and let her brighten your day!
Will you be the one to give Coco her next beautiful chapter? 💛🐾

More about this shelter

The City of Hopewell Animal Shelter is run by the Animal Control Officers. We fall under the Hopewell Police Department and train accordingly to serve the animals and the public of Hopewell. Our shelter is currently a small scale shelter with 28 dog kennels and 14 cat cages.

Our shelter is often full. We work hard to find our animals that are not claimed by an owner a new home or an approved rescue.

Most of our animals at our facility are animals that were found running loose that no one came to look for. We do often get animals in from owner surrenders where the previous owners can no longer care for them. At times we also seize animals and they will eventually need forever homes or rescue.

Come on down to the City of Hopewell and meet the wonderful Animal Control Officers and the Shelter staff that care for the animals on a daily basis.
