?? Meet Shorty — The Brave Husky with a Big Heart! ?? Shorty’s story is one of survival, resilience, and hope. For nearly two years, this handsome husky made his home in the woods behind Walmart, often seen running with friendly packs of dogs and even sharing space with a few cats! Despite his rough start, Shorty has proven to be incredibly social and gentle — a true testament to his loving nature.
Now that he’s safe and ready for his next chapter, Shorty is showing everyone just how wonderful he is. He’s very dog-friendly, doing great with both small and large dogs in his foster home. He’s also possibly cat-friendly — he was often seen calmly coexisting with cats during his time behind Walmart and seems more timid than anything around feline friends.
Shorty is leash-trained and potty-trained, and he’s happiest when he’s part of the pack — whether that’s on a walk, exploring the yard, or lounging near his people. Like many huskies, Shorty doesn’t enjoy being crated or confined, and he’s a bit of an escape artist, so he’ll need a secure yard and supervision when outside.
He’s looking for an adopter with husky experience — someone who understands their spirited, intelligent, and independent nature and can give Shorty the structure, patience, and love he deserves.
After everything he’s been through, Shorty is ready to trade the woods for a warm home, a soft bed, and a forever family of his own.
?? If you’re ready to open your heart to this special boy, Shorty is ready to give you his whole heart in return.
