My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maizy, a gentle and loving 10-year-old domestic shorthair whose heart is as warm as her soft fur 🐾💗. This beautiful girl has the sweetest soul and a calm presence that fills any room with comfort. Whether you’re reading a book, working on your laptop, or just enjoying a quiet evening at home, Maizy is the perfect companion to share your space—and your heart—with. She may be a senior, but her love is timeless, and she’s ready to share it with her forever family.

Maizy gets along with pretty much everyone she meets—humans, cats, and respectful pups alike 🐶🐱. She’s the kind of cat who makes herself right at home and is always happy to curl up nearby for snuggles or simply keep you company with her soothing presence. There’s something truly special about her energy: kind, affectionate, and always welcoming. She’s the epitome of grace and gentleness wrapped up in a beautiful feline form.

She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines—ready to bring warmth and love into a home of her own 🏡✨. If you’ve been dreaming of a calm, cuddly cat with a heart of gold, Maizy just might be your perfect match. Come meet this lovely lady and let her show you how magical life

More about this rescue

The vision of Animal Compassion Team has been years in the making, shaped by hard work, heartbreak, and an unwavering love for animals. Despite the challenges, we chose this path because saving lives matters—it's that simple. Every dog, cat, and animal we rescue reaffirms our commitment to making a difference. In August 2009, we took a leap of faith and became a 501(c)3 non-profit, ready to turn hope into action. Each life saved makes every effort worthwhile, and we look forward to sharing countless happy endings.

Our Mission Statement
To provide a safe haven for animals of all breeds and species through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for humane treatment, promote the human-animal bond, and educate about kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership, emphasizing spaying and neutering. Together with other rescues and shelters, we strive toward a no-kill nation.
