My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Coffee, I'm four months old and growing like a weed. I'm house and crate trained, and love walks. People are my favorite thing and I fall for anyone who gives me attention. Courteous dogs and I get along well, but being the protector if they're rude, I'ma match the energy! I don't have much of a prey drive, ignoring cats, squirrels and birds outside. I've never been close enough to sniff a cat, but they seem scary! I get really excited to play with kids, and still sometimes nibble when I shouldn't. I'd rather sit next to you, or lay by your feet than be cuddled, but maybe that's from my brother chewing me every time he does! I do well walking on leash alone, but need some practice walking with other dogs.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Application and more info may be found at: peaklabrescue.com/adopt. Please allow 24 hours for your application to be reviewed.

2.
Meet the Pet

If approved, you will be given the foster's contact info. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. You must come to Apex, NC (near Raleigh) to meet in person.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

If it's a match you can take your dog home that day. Our Adoption Fee is $375 and you must complete and sign our Adoption Agreement.

4.
Take the Pet Home

If you return the dog within 7 days of adoption you may receive a refund of $300. A $75 administrative fee is required to cover our costs.

Additional adoption info

You will receive the dog's Vet records via email 7-10 days after adoption. You will receive the dog's microchip info and rabies tag (if appropriate) via USPS about 2 weeks after adoption.

Peak Lab Rescue is the largest foster-based dog rescue in North Carolina. We do not have a facility, all of our dogs live in homes where they can learn the skills to be successful family members.

Our Mission is to end dog homelessness in North Carolina. We save Lab Mixes and other dogs from abuse, neglect, abandonment, and high-kill shelters.
