My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Snow – The Playful and Loving Turkish Angora with a Heart of Gold!

Snow is a gorgeous Turkish Angora, a breed known for its elegance, intelligence, and affectionate nature. Though he currently has a short haircut, his coat will soon grow back into the long, silky fur that Turkish Angoras are famous for — soft as snow and just as beautiful.  He is fifteen months old.

Snow is full of personality — playful, curious, and loving. He enjoys attention, playtime, and companionship, and he’ll happily follow you around to be part of whatever you’re doing. Turkish Angoras are known for their strong bonds with their humans, and Snow is no exception — he’s a loyal friend who loves to love and be loved.

He also has a unique feature: a slightly misshaped lower canine tooth. It’s a congenital condition that was checked by a vet in Egypt and doesn’t cause him any pain or discomfort — it just makes him even more special!

Snow is healthy, vaccinated, and neutered — ready for his forever home!

If you’re looking for a charming, affectionate companion who’s as stunning as he is sweet, Snow is waiting to melt your heart.

All of our cats for adoption are sterilized, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms, are negative for FIV/FELV, have a registered microchip, and come with their travel crate.  Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Potential adopters for our Persian cats need to have prior Persian cat experience as they need to be well cared for.  Grooming, dental, and veterinarian exams are done once a year, and a good quality brand of cat food such as Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, or Purina Pro plan is the upper tier level with a black label.

We are a rescue and get what we get in terms of cats in need of a home. In no way do we work with breeders or buy the cats from the Friday markets so we can put them up for adoption as a rescue.

Native Mau Cats of Egypt are the oldest known descendants of Egyptian domesticated cats (which have provided a partial foundation for the recent Egyptian Mau cat breed), and they are one of only a few naturally occurring, small, spotted cats in the world. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and by an approved application.   NVEcats aims to increase education in Egypt and around the world about these magnificent and intelligent cats.

Cats and kittens are not adopted out on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. We choose to match our applicants and cats based on what we deem as best suited for that particular cat or kitten.
