My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bruce!
This absolutely gorgeous pup is estimated to be around 4 years young. He has a high prey drive so we have not had him around cats. He is highly intelligent and loves everyone he meets! He is a large and strong dog so older children only!
Here’s what Bruce has to say:
I will love you and all of your friends! A lot 😘
I think going for walks and meeting new well behaved friends is exciting! My foster Mom is teaching me to be a polite gentleman as I get used to meeting more and more friends and walk better and better on my leash 😃
One of my special talents and mission is to locate every mole, mouse, squirrel and rabbit. I guess you could call me Snoop Dogg 😂
My Foster Mom says my MOST endearing qualities are the way that I love to try and crawl in your lap and give you all of the kisses I can get away with ❤️
Zoomies are a daily requirement made by me.
Did I tell you I’m house AND crate trained? Yup!
I also love car rides and behave myself 😎
But most of all…I want a family to call my own. So….won’t you
Please go to K9newlife.org and fill out an adoption application pronto!
Since I’m in a foster home, they will make us an appointment to get together 😃

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our goal is to find loving, lifelong homes for our dogs.

We require an adoption application, a home inspection, and $250 adoption donation. This helps pay for medical care, dog food, and supplies.

To ensure we find the best homes for dogs in our care, our adoption process involves several steps. Adopting a dog requires a commitment of love and responsibility for the welfare of the animal, just as you would have for a human member of your family. Please consider the challenges that come with owning a dog as these challenges are often the reason many pets end up in shelters.

1. Complete our online adoption application: http://www.k9newlife.org/adoption-application.html

2. Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you.

3. A home check is done to ensure the dog will live in a suitable environment.

4. A meet and greet will be arranged for the adopter and the dog(s) of interest.

5. An adoption contract must be completed to finalize the adoption process.

Prior to adoption, all of our dogs receive a general veterinary checkup, vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test (treatment, if necessary), heart worm/flea/tick prevention, and spay/neuter.

More about this rescue

K-9 New Life is an all breed, no-kill dog rescue organization located in southeast Virginia. We are registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The mission of K-9 New Life is to take in dogs from shelters when they have run out of time or are injured or too sick for the shelters to handle. We provide them with health care, rehabilitation, training, and a loving foster home until they can be adopted. Our focus is to give these less fortunate dogs a second chance to live the life they deserve.
