Meet Lua – A Special Cat Looking for Her Forever Home!

Lua is a unique and special cat with a heart of gold, though she does have her quirks. She`s a sweet girl who has been through a lot, and with a little patience and understanding, she will make an amazing companion.

When Lua feels comfortable, she enjoys attention and will purr and rub against you – showing her affectionate side. However, she can also let you know when she`s had enough, so she’s the type of cat that likes to set her own boundaries.

Her wobbles are part of her charm, as Lua has cerebral hypoplasia, which gives her a distinct, cute gait.

Lua’s ideal home will be one that can offer her a quiet, calm environment with people who understand that she may need time to adjust and decompress. Lua loves to play, especially with balls.

Lua is a cat who will need someone patient, calm, and willing to work with her at her own pace. If you`re looking for a special cat with personality and who’s ready to shine with the right support, Lua may be the perfect match for you!

Submit Application

Fill out an adoption questionnaire and get ready to meet with a counselor (same day!)

Meet the Pet

You'll meet with the pet with one of our adoption counselors or we will connect you with the foster home!

Pay Fee

Fees vary by species & age. All fees are posted to the website.

Take the Pet Home

The Adoption Center is open M,T,Th,Fr from 12-7pm and Saturday & Sunday from 12-5pm. The Shelter is closed to the public on Wednesdays.

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC), proudly operated by the Montgomery County Office of Animal Services, provides high-standard sheltering and care to the homeless, abused, and neglected animals in Montgomery County and ensures the safety and welfare of the county’s citizens.

The Center’s doors are open to all animals in need from: dogs and cats to farm animals, wildlife, and exotics. Trained staff provide animals with daily care, mental and physical enrichment, health and wellness checks, and more. Through adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, vaccination clinics, education and outreach, the Center serves as a critical community resource to promote and advocate for responsible pet care. With community support and partnerships with other animal-welfare groups, our Foster, Rescue and Volunteer programs enhance and save the lives of even more homeless animals.
