My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Hi there! I’m PIPER, but you can call me the Queen of Cuddles! 🐾

Once upon a time in a land called Dublin, there was a beautiful two-year-old Border Collie Mix named Piper! 😍 She had a silky-smooth black and white coat, mesmerizing amber eyes, and a smile that lit up any room she entered. She was 47lbs of pure LOVE and anyone who laid eyes on her fell under her spell. It’s no wonder why she quickly became a favorite at the shelter! With her heart of gold, sweet face, and unforgettable cuddles it was a mystery to everyone why she hadn’t yet found her happily-ever-after. 💓 Here is her tale…

Piper’s favorite part of the day is anytime she can be with a volunteer pal! 😀 You may even get to see her happy dance including her signature “hug”- she’ll stand on her hind legs and give you a warm hug that can melt all your problems away. 🥰 Once she is outside, she walks very majestically on leash. The great outdoors is a magical adventure, and you’ll often catch her enjoying every sniff along the way.

Piper loves to be by a hooman pal’s side! Her two greatest joys are having a human companion, and the belly rubs they give. She believes there is magic in those belly rubs because they make her feel so loved. 💘 As a thank you Piper will sit nicely and take treats very gently. She is working on more commands and is learning every day. After all, it’s in her DNA to be just as smart as she is beautiful! In between pets and cuddles, you’ll find her frolicking in the yard, checking to see if her castle is being kept safe (primarily from other dogs as she prefers them to keep their distance), and occasionally playing with a toy or chasing a squeaky ball. 🐕🏐

Piper would thrive best in a home where there are no other dogs. She dreams of being your one-and-only, soaking up all your love and returning it tenfold. After all, her heart is more than big enough to fill a home all on her own!

So, what do you say? If you’re in search of a loyal, loving companion who’s ready to share her unconditional love with you, Piper is your gal! Somewhere, her fairytale ending is waiting. All that’s missing is YOU! ❣️

Her adoption fee is $35, plus licensing (if applicable). The cost of her spay surgery is sponsored!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Please browse our adoptable animals. We make every effort to keep our listings updated.

Each of our animals has contact information in the description - either referencing the phone number of the foster volunteer who is fostering the animal or East County Animal Shelter contact information if a shelter animal.

If you have questions, please use the contact information in the description directly. We attempt to forward emails sent to contact@tvar.org to the foster though it is not necessarily before the animal is adopted. Also, volunteers who monitor this email do not know the animals whereas the fosters do!

If a dog or puppy is in foster with TVAR, please fill out an adoption application (available here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TVAR/Dog). We consider each application and pick the best one for the animal in question. In general, we do not do out of area adoptions. Kittens do not need applications completed - just contact the foster!

If an animal is at ECAS, they have their own adoption process. Please go to ECAS (they are open daily 11:30am to 5:30pm except holidays) to meet the animal and learn about ECAS's adoption process.

All TVAR animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, treated for worms and fleas, and microchipped. Felines are FIV/FeLV tested. Many of our pets also come with a "packed bag" that can include a variety of goodies like bedding, food, toys, leashes, and even private training sessions with our professional trainers. Adoption fees vary by species. Our fee range is $120-$350. The foster volunteer can provide specifics for the animals in their care.

Go meet their pets

**Please go to www.tvar.org to check adoption event status before going** Dog adoptions take place at the Pleasanton Farmers Market, at the park on the corner of First and Angela streets, every Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm. All of our adoptable dogs (and selected ECAS dogs) are available on our website and on adopt-a-pet.com.

Kittens adoptions take place every Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm at the Dublin PetSmart, pending availability. During kitten season (March to December), we have way more kittens than we could ever hope to post online, so come visit us at PetSmart to see our selection.

All of our adoptable animals can also be met/adopted by appointment made directly with the foster volunteers.

More about this rescue

Tri-Valley Animal Rescue (TVAR) was founded in 1992 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area). We primarily place shelter animals in foster care of TVAR volunteers while trying to find them permanent homes. Although we do not have a facility of our own, we help over 1000 animals find forever homes yearly through the hard work and dedication of our East County Animal Shelter shelter volunteers who socialize shelter animals daily and assist the public in selecting a pet to adopt.

We have a variety of volunteer programs including a shelter program and four foster programs. We are always looking for more volunteers - especially fosters. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please check out our volunteer page (https://www.tvar.org/volunteer/) for information.
