Rusty — The Gentle Giant Who Deserves a Second Chance
Rusty once had a home of his own. Years ago, he was adopted and loved — or so he thought. But recently, this sweet senior boy was found scared and confused, surrendered to Peninsula Humane Society instead of being returned to us. After all he’s been through, he’s still gentle, trusting, and hopeful that someone will give him the forever home he’s always deserved.
Originally rescued from the streets of Fresno, Rusty has weathered a lot, yet his spirit remains soft. He’s a big, sweet, shy fluffer who loves to be near his person. Rusty will pace back and forth beside you for pets or his favorite daily combing session — his happy place. He purrs and gives head bonks, then curls up nearby once he’s had enough affection.
He’s not quite a lap cat, but he’s loving in his own quiet way. What he needs most now is patience, kindness, and a calm home where he can finally feel safe again.
Rusty is on a prescription diet for urinary tract health and appreciates a roomy litter box with high sides — small accommodations for a big-hearted boy.
Rusty has known what it feels like to be left behind. This time, he deserves a home that never lets him go.
