My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Lewy was brought in by his previous owner.

Why Lewy might be the one for you:
Lewy is a really big guy. Everything is big about Lewy. He has a big heart, a big white chest to show off that big heart and a big personality. Because of his size and friendly personality, he will attract lots of attention when he is out with you - be prepared. While he likes that attention, he gives his heart only to his few selected people. He will bond big with his selected person (or two) and he will always want to have them close by. He will not want to be left behind for very long or very often. Do you want a big friendly guy to become your devoted family dog? Do you have the space, time and love to give this big guy? If you do, you will never lack for the love of a dog as long as you have Lewy. Come and meet this special, gentle guy who wants to be by your side.

At SDHS:
Lewy has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. Lewy is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
