Hey, I’m Yam, a 5-month-old tortoiseshell kitten with a little bit of mystery and a LOT of personality! I’m a shy girl at first, think of me as “cautiously curious”, but give me a little time, and I’ll show you my quirky, sweet side. I love exploring cozy corners, peeking from behind furniture, and watching the world with my big, bright tortie eyes.
I’m looking for a patient human who can appreciate a slow-and-steady kind of love. I may not be the fastest to climb into your lap, but when I do, it’s a full-on tortie-level trust moment—and those are priceless. Adopt me, and you’ll get a little shadow, a lot of personality, and enough tortitude to keep life interesting!

More about this shelter
The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
