Tasha is a sweet senior shih tzu covered in a wooly coat of black and white with a bit of a blep and the teeniest little underbite. Her quizzical expression and adorable antics may inspire laughter, but we promise it’s not hideous (note for those who aren’t D&D afficionados, Tasha’s Hideous Laughter is an attack spell where your enemy falls to the ground for several rounds in a fit of hysterical laughter). But there’s nothing hideous about this mini-mutt, she’s been a total sweetheart with the other pups, enjoys scratches and cuddles from the volunteer, and is overall just the goodest girl. If you’re looking for some levity in your life, maybe you try laughing with the terrific Tasha!
Here's some notes from her foster:
Tasha has settled in well and now prefers to sleep in late - she gives a little grunt when I get her out of bed, but is still happy to go on walks!
She's gotten better at using the stairs: going up 3 is the right number while 4 presents a challenge, but she can still make it up confidently with a little help. She now understands she can step on them rather than hurdle them (well, mostly).
She lets me know if she needs to go out by giving the cutest little wines - and if I don’t pick up on the cues she starts pacing, which is how I know it’s time.
Other than that she’s a little sweet couch potato, sleeping most of the day curled in her bed. When I take her for walks, though, she power walks like she’s late for her next appointment. She lifts her head at each stranger, hoping they’ll give her a pat. She also wants to go sniff other dogs, but doesn’t spend much time with them before deciding it’s time to jet off to the next spot. She keeps tension on the leash doesn’t pull. She rarely stops when she’s not doing her business.
