My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Meow* I`m in a foster home. To meet me contact my foster caregiver at kian@kianmckellar.com

Leroy is a gentle giant. Three hours after coming home he was purring in my lap. I`ve had non-cat friends shocked at how he could convince them of the appeals of owning a cat.

A bunch of details:
He`s an old cat but he is still happy to play now and then but tends to nap a good deal
He is happy to free feed and doesn`t scarf down his food.
He`s a talker, expect him to loudly talk to you for half an hour after you wake up and come home.
He loves to play with string.
He isn`t destructive but he will explore everywhere he can. He`s figured out how to pull open doors which aren`t latched by reaching under the bottom.
He doesn`t seem to shed much. Even with black pants I barely notice afterward.
One of his favorite spots is sitting under my computer monitor and just hanging out.
He`s got one scrunchy ear which makes him look like he`s lived a rough life despite being the sweetest.
He`s so chill that even when you clip his nails he is just quietly upset.
Definitely loves treats.

I`d recommend him to anyone who wants low key companionship and endless cuddles. He is so gentle and nice to be around.

More about this shelter

At the Humane Rescue Alliance, we honor more than 150 years of commitment to protecting animals, supporting families, and advocating for positive change to create a world where all animals can thrive. HRA serves as a national leader and local champion for all animals.

With a people-focused, community-based approach, we treat every animal as an individual and emphasize specialized care for both animals and their families. Through our two campuses in the District of Columbia and New Jersey, we are the largest animal services provider in our region – touching the lives of tens of thousands of animals annually through direct rescue, care, and community-based services. Our teams find solutions to both small and big problems, from providing direct care to an animal in crisis to tackling systemic barriers to affordable, pet-friendly housing.
