My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dove!!!

This girl is the ultimate social butterfly! She's mastered the art of friendship—whether you're a dog, cat, or human, you're automatically on her "Best Friends Forever" list. No drama, no fuss, just pure love for everyone she meets!

What Makes Her Tail Wag:
Snack Attack Superstar - Peanut butter Kongs? Yes, please! This girl takes treat time very seriously.

The Ball Hoarder - Watch her hilariously attempt to fit every single ball in her mouth at once. Spoiler: physics says no, but she never stops trying!

Stuffie Destroyer Extraordinaire - Those plush toys don't stand a chance! She's a professional fluff extractor

Your Shadow (in the Best Way) - She LIVES for bonding time with her humans and will follow you around like you're the most interesting person on the planet (because to her, you are!).

Pack Life Princess - Gets along fabulously with other dogs and even the cats!

Energy Bunny - Daily play sessions are a must! She needs at least 20 minutes of romping, running, playing, and ball-chasing (with a few zoomies for good measure) in a secure area to burn off that puppy power.

What She's Looking For:
Patience during the adjustment period - New homes can be overwhelming! Remember the 3/3/3 rule!

Toy supply - Stuffies to destroy and toys to play with (she promises to love them... briefly)

Quality time - She wants humans who actually want to hang out with her, not just have a dog

Dream Home Includes:
Another playful pup with a similar vibe (she thrives with a buddy!)
Humans ready for meaningful companionship
BONUS ROUND: A home with kids would make her the happiest pup alive!

*Estimated to be 2.5 years old
*55 lbs. of cuteness
*Dog, Cat and Kid Friendly
*Crate and potty trained
*Spayed, UTD on vaccines and microchipped

This loyal, loving girl is ready to become your most devoted companion. She's house-trained, crate-trained, gets along with everyone, and just wants a family to love. Are you ready to be her forever human?

Apply to make her your new best friend!

Additional adoption info

Peace Love and Paws Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, animal welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray, neglected and abused animals. Peace Love and Paws Rescue is completely funded through fundraising efforts and public donations. All of our pets are cared for by foster homes and receive complete medical care, which includes worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering and microchipping prior to their adoption.

This questionnaire is designed to help Peace Love and Paws Rescue determine if a specific dog is the right match for you and your household. All adopting and fostering parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. Peace Love and Paws Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption or fostering based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoptions and placing foster homes!

More about this rescue

We are three passionate, animal loving dog moms who met through various volunteer efforts at local rescues in the Detroit area. We continued talking outside of volunteering and quickly came to realize that we all had similar goals, to help as many animals in need that we possibly could. In the Detroit area, there are so many animals who need homes, medical attention, and love.

We decided that we wanted to be able to do more to help these animals. We are raising funds through selling merchandise, fundraising, donations, and supporting local community events. All funds raised will be used to establish a nonprofit status, fund the medical needs of local dogs, and find shelter animals their furever home.

Follow us on our journey to create a rescue that provides animals the love and care they need while they find their home. We will post updates on our social media of the dogs we are able to help and how your support made a difference.
