My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes: Papi Chulo (PC for short) is a very curious and loving cat. He loves a good cuddle and will always snuggle up with you on the couch and be your sleeping buddy. He likes to be kissed on the head and neck and loves to sniff your face as if to give kisses back. He always wants to be in the mix and will follow you everywhere! Sometimes he will even jump on my shoulders to walk around with me. He has lots of energy and loves to play. He even fetches! He has been learning to sit and is very food driven and vocal when hungry. Papi Chulo is an adorable, affectionate, and loving cat with a great heart. He definitely wants a companion and someone to love.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me.

I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

Papi Chulo solicits attention and accepts petting but may be assertively demanding of attention or may play roughly. He may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center and a bite/scratch history, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.

A volunteer writes: In Papi Chulo's previous home, sitting at the window brought a fresh and welcome perspective each day. Things have changed, and considerably so, but still Papi Chulo searches to gain an understanding on how to be through carefully exploring his environment through observation. With paws politely tucked, Papi Chulo does his best to follow everything in Adoptions and then does his best to keep up. It's a bit of a heartbreak watching someone work so hard on the sidelines, but we know Papi Chulo wants to follow along and we also know it isn't always so easy. In his previous home, Papi Chulo loved to play games of hide and seek, fetching toys and errant bugs. He gently leans into pets but isn't always one to ask for them. Papi Chulo's only hoping for a chance.
