My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I will need appropriate toys and positive outlets for my energy.

I don't always like to share my food, toys or bedding with other animals.

I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

My boroughbreaker writes: Foxtrot started off our day bursting with energy, and that energy dialed up to 11 when we got to the park and he touched grass for the first time. You could tell he wanted nothing more than to sprint and play, but his pulling became very strong, so we stuck to pavement.
Foxtrot pulled moderately for our first hour but gradually started to lose steam and walk loose leash. Foxtrot does not appear to be treat motivated (although it may just be he didn't like the treats I was offering), so I couldn't keep him focused on me purely by using treats.
Foxtrot was well mannered when passing dogs of all sizes and didn't show interest in squirrels or small birds, although he was somewhat curious about geese.
While he didn't react to loud noises on the street, Foxtrot did get nervous when a larger dog started barking in his direction. At the time, we were sitting on a park bench, and he hugged my legs and trembled until the dog passed. We then resumed our walk, and he didn't display any more fear reactions.
Foxtrot is a beautiful and sensitive dog who will seek the comfort and support of his owner. If you are a patient owner who can provide him with consistent physical and mental exercise and have the patience to work on his resource guarding, you are going to get a loving and loyal dog in return!

A Volunteer Wrote: "Prepare yourself for unbearable cuteness," warned the video of Foxtrot that was sent to me before I met him. Even so, there is no preparing for this cutest, waggiest boy! Foxtrot, who has previously lived with a child, has shown his playful side to everyone at the shelter, including other dogs. His precious owner said Foxtrot's only sad when he's left alone, but this is so a dog worth sticking around for! Please, won't you come and be his forever buddy?
