My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I am Harley, a sweet, talkative girl with a big heart and an even bigger personality. I recently finished being a fantastic mama to a litter of adorable pups and now it is my time to shine. I am ready to hang up my mom hat and enjoy the pampered life I truly deserve!

I absolutely love people and will greet you with tail wags and plenty to say. I can be a little anxious when left alone so I would love a home where someone is around more often than not.

I walk pretty nicely on leash with my harness on and try to keep my kennel clean (though I do drool and occasionally have an accident). Overall, I am just a loyal, loving girl looking for a second chance at a happy life.

Harley does not always see eye to eye with other dogs and would do best in a home without other dogs.

Ready to fall in love? Come meet me at the shelter today!

Harley is four years old and weighs 73 pounds.

The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.

More about this shelter

We promote the humane care of all abandoned and stray animals in our community. We are a no-kill shelter. All of our pets leave the shelter for their forever homes micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines, and altered.

Founded in 2002, Helping Strays is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization supported entirely by donations.

Our lucky animals receive appropriate medical care, are featured on the Helping Strays website "adoption list" and are taken to several adoption events every month in an attempt to find permanent, loving homes.
