My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A Heart as Big as His Paws

Arlo is a gentle, loving, affectionate, 1 ½ -2 year old, 55 pound, Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as his paws. After surviving serious neglect, he’s now blossoming into a gorgeous, playful dog who loves to run, explore, and play fetch. Squeaky and crinkle toys are his favorite—he’ll happily chase them, toss them around, or quietly chew on one while resting beside you. He thrives on being around people and loves to stay close, whether you're working around the house or relaxing on the couch. Arlo would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can run safely and freely. Because of his size and energy, he’s best suited for a home with children over 8. He is an incredibly loyal, loving addition to the right home.

This sweet boy craves your companionship. He’s shown a strong interest in playing with the resident cats in his foster home, although they haven’t returned the enthusiasm. While his interactions with other dogs haven’t been directly tested, he seems eager to engage with other animals and would likely enjoy a home where he isn’t the only pet, or where he gets plenty of quality time with his people.

Arlo is both housebroken and kennel trained. His cue to go outside is subtle. He’ll quietly wait by the door, so you do have to pay close attention, but he’s very reliable when given regular opportunities. While he’s already well-mannered, Arlo would benefit from formal training classes to help him build confidence and improve his obedience skills.

This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, tested for diseases, provided treatment for skin conditions, dewormed, neutered, and microchipped.  ADOPTION APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FROM acaringplace@comcast.net

More about this rescue

A Caring Place, is an All Breed Dog Rescue organization that is exclusively foster based (no facility) and is volunteer run. We rescue dogs and puppies from animal control facilities, dog pounds, and other shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia. In addition we take in dogs surrendered by their owners who can or are no longer willing to care for their dog. Each dog this rescue takes in receives all medical care and treatment necessary to be healthy, and then place them into loving temporary homes (foster homes) until adopted. Without our foster care provider's, we could not save these dogs.

FOSTER CARE PROVIDERS are always needed!
