Meet Lizzy! Pretty girl, professional couch enthusiast (any size), and very serious ball collector.
This long-bodied, soft-furred, squeaky-ball-obsessed beauty's world changed when her person lost multiple jobs and, ultimately, their home. Lizzy arrived at Miri's Haven confused and unsure, her favorite light-up squeaky balls tucked beside her along with her big fluffy bed…the last pieces of the life she knew. And even as her heart processed this enormous change, her sweetness never wavered. Gentle, polite, and tender-hearted, she is doing her best to understand this new chapter.
Lizzy is a little fluffy, a little round, and absolutely perfect in all her long-bodied, short-legged glory. She is snuggly, affectionate, and playful. She loves a good game of fetch, walks beautifully, and finds comfort in her crate when the world feels overwhelming. She does stairs like a pro, is a great copilot in the car, and sleeps through the night.
Lizzy is overweight, so her ideal family will be dedicated to helping her lose it and keep it off. She needs support sticking to her diet (tough since she's a huge foodie) and staying active (less tough - she loves going on lots of walks and chasing balls). She'll even let you know when she wants to play by dropping the ball right at your feet (often when you least expect it!).
She’d thrive in a home with other dogs ~ especially bigger dogs who enjoy playing but also understand the art of age-appropriate fun. (She’s a little semi-arthritic but still scoots around just fine.) Kids are totally fine too - she adores her high energy toddler foster sibling. The jury is still out on cats.
Lizzy loves lounging in dog beds or on the couch, though she doesn't like jumping on or off of the couch or bed (she's a lady, thank you) so doggie stairs are a must in her forever home. Her only other non-negotiable requirement? A human with a good arm who will throw a ball. Again. And again. And again. Because Lizzy lives for fetch.
This very good girl is now accepting applications and would love to review yours.
Lizzy is approximately 10 years old and 40 lbs.
