Here's what the humans have to say about me:
To Infinity, and a Forever Home! Meet Lightyear! This handsome explorer crash-landed at our shelter after being found as a stray — but now he’s ready to blast off into his next big adventure: finding a family! Lightyear is a sweet, smart, and playful boy who’s mastered all the basics — he knows sit, down, stay, and come, and sometimes even shows off his “sit” without being asked (because he’s just that good). He’s a big fan of treats, enjoys his walks, and loves a good game of playtime — though he might get a little carried away with zoomies or toy excitement, he always settles nicely and listens well. He even took a calm break sitting side-by-side on a stone bench, proving he’s got both energy and heart. Lightyear would do great with kids and loves being around people. He’s not one to chase or bark at other animals — even sheep couldn’t break his focus when treats were involved! If you’re looking for a loyal co-pilot who’s equal parts fun, affectionate, and well-behaved, Lightyear’s ready to take off with you.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc., located in Fallston, Maryland, is a non-profit, open-admission animal support organization dedicated to providing shelter and care to the homeless, abandoned and abused animals of Harford County. We provide a safe and healthy temporary shelter and seek loving, permanent homes to ensure the long-term welfare of the animals we serve. Through education and advocacy, we promote the humane treatment of companion animals and work toward reducing, and ultimately eliminating, pet overpopulation in the county through low-cost spay and neuter programs.
We have welcomed more than 300,000 animals since 1946 and provide service to the community in conjunction with animal control to safeguard public health and safety. We strive to promote the special bond between humans and their companion pets in securing forever homes for our animals.
The Humane Society of Harford County serves nearly 4,000 animals each year. The animals include dogs, cats, ponies, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, bearded dragons, lizards, snakes, spiders, iguanas, turtles, ducks, turkeys, chickens, goats and pigs, to name a few. The majority of the animals we receive are cats (and kittens) and dogs (and puppies).
