My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Hamburglar, and I have quite the tale to tell—a tale of adventure, mistaken identity, and a new beginning.

My journey began on a rainy day when I was found shivering outside by two kind-hearted souls. They brought me in from the storm and searched diligently for my home, but my luck seemed to run out. That's when my wonderful Foster Mom stepped in. She was told I was a pregnant female in need of safe harbor. Imagine her surprise—and mine!—when the vet revealed I was actually a neutered boy with a very important secret: I had a microchip!

That tiny chip changed everything. My Foster Mom scanned it immediately, and the registration led her right to my owner. The news was bittersweet. My beloved owner was very sick and in the hospital, completely unaware I was missing. He shared that I had a habit of running away because my sibling cat had become a bit of a bully over the years. With a heavy heart, he knew the best thing for me was to find a peaceful, forever home where I could thrive.

And thankfully, I am thriving! I've settled in beautifully with my Foster Mom and her cats. They are wonderful company, and I've found true peace indoors—I have absolutely no desire for another outdoor adventure!

A little note about my preferences: While I love my feline friends, I'm a sophisticated gentleman who finds the resident dogs a bit... much. They are annoying, so I would truly prefer a quiet, dog-free home. However, if there are very respectful, quiet dogs who can handle an occasional, well-deserved hiss, I could potentially make an exception!

I am now ready to put my wandering days behind me and give all my love and devotion to my very own forever family. Could that be you?

Likes noisy ball tools and a nice scratcher.

All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Please fill in our application via this link: http://www.felinematchmakers.org

More about this rescue

Faith McNitt started Feline Matchmakers in January of 2020. We are a small organization that focuses on owner surrenders. The larger organizations focus on shelter pulls, so we feel this is the most needed service in Wilmington, NC. We also work TNR cases in small numbers. We are looking for fosters to build our organization. All fosters work on a charity basis, as we do not yet have the funding to pay for anything other than medical expenses. If interested in joining us to save cats from being euthenized or put in shelters, please contact us.
