Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rue is a sweet girl who appreciates the finer things in life; a cozy lap, fluffy blankets, and a little R&R. Though she has lived with kids in the past, young children were a bit much for her - so she's looking for an adult-only home or one with only older kids.

Rue can be nervous with changes and needs a home that will be understanding of that. With a little patience, she will become your best friend and professional lap warmer!

If the pet is already spayed/neutered, and we're not waiting on a meet & greet or medical results to come back, the pet can go home TODAY!

Additional adoption info

VHS Adoption hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00-6:00 pm Central Standard Time.

Our adoption fees are as follows:

Cats & kittens: $100
Dogs older than 6 months: $200
Puppies under 6 months: $250
Rabbits: $50

Dog and cat adoption fees include the animal's spay or neuter, nationally-registered microchip, and age-appropriate vaccinations.

The Vanderburgh Humane Society, Inc. (VHS), a tax exempt, 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1957. We receive no tax-based funding whatsoever. Therefore, we depend on the generosity of the corporate community and the public at large to continue, and hopefully expand, the much needed services we offer.
