At three years old, she has already endured more neglect than any dog should. She came from a home with far too many dogs, and although her basic needs were met, she never received the individual affection or attention she desperately needed. She was simply overlooked — and shy black dogs like Artie are often the last to be noticed.
Despite her past, Artie is incredibly gentle, soft-natured, and loving. She has been spayed, is potty trained, and knows basic commands. She’s shy at first, but once she begins to trust you, her personality unfolds like a little flower. Artie does fine with other dogs and cats, but she really isn’t interested in them. She tolerates their presence politely but doesn’t seek out interaction or play.
