Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Miss Peony is a young adult chihuahua mix looking for her forever home. She is timid but sweet with a touch of chihuahua spice. It takes a bit for her to warm up but after that she does well. She is playful and is learning about dog toys and bones. Peony kennels well and is doing well with potty training. She is an Oklahoma girl so this Iowa cold is an adjustment. She will use a potty pad if she is struggling to go outside in the cold. She does okay with other dogs as long as they are not getting in her face too much. If you are interested in meeting Peony, please fill out an application on our website www.foreverhomedogs.org Her adoption fee is $250All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots.
Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

More about this rescue
Forever Home Dog Rescue is dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals primarily from high-kill shelters.
In working with committed volunteers, temporary care homes and local veterinarians, we are able to rescue dogs, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. All our rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and have all necessary veterinary care.
We were formed in January 2014 and are a non-profit organization in central Iowa. We are pending our official 501c3 status. We receive no government funding and rely completely on donations.
