My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Floyd! I am not just a dog—I am a gentle soul with a big heart and motivated to find forever home. Despite a rough start and a few health bumps, I wake up every day with a wagging tail, ready to play fetch, and excited to lounge on the couch with all of my friends! I am around 4 years old, 57 lbs and a stunning Catahoula mix. I will insist that I am your perfect lap dog and I'll happily prove it by climbing right into your lap and melting like butter. Your circulation may disagree, but your heart won’t. Snuggling is essential with me - I seek out dogs, humans and blankets for my security and comfort. When I am not soaking up cuddles, I play ball by myself! I will toss it, chase it, and bounce around. I also hang out with my doggie foster siblings and the cats in my home! I like to be around them all and often you will find a dog pile right on the couch. I am housebroken, crate-trained and have all the makings of a great dog.

I might be nervous at first before I settle in. Going slow and steady is important for me like most dogs. I need to know that I am safe and sound. My story hasn't been all fun and games but these last few months, I have worked on getting completely fixed up (thanks to my beyond words amazing foster family). I had eye surgery so my cataracts is resolved! I also have my diabetes under control and managed. I am feeling GREAT; I act like a normal dog and have a very positive health outlook. What a wonderful change! I am all healed up and ready to take on the world around me—and most importantly, to find my forever home.I am not looking for perfect in my new home (no one is perfect) —I am looking for present and a bit of understanding. I am goofy, loving, active, endlessly entertaining, and ready to give someone my whole heart.

I have some camping experience too! :)

Thank you to the Kia Pet Adoption Grant, my adoption fee is waived! And, I am located in the tri-state area. I would love to meet you!
