This handsome hunk is 2ish years old and when I say, sweet, you will get the diabetes just being in the same room with him!
Some dogs that come to the shelter we never know history, but we do know a little history on this guy. From what we were told, he was a neighborhood dog for several several months. Multiple people in the neighborhood were feeding scraps or whatever. We do believe they did care for him. So when he ended up at animal control, they did try to claim him. However, they were just going to let him go back to being in the neighborhood Dog. While, I know they had good intentions, he needed more stability. We noticed he had a limp and we are not sure if he was hit by a car or how he got that injury. But also during his time at the shelter, he was also attacked on one of his rear legs, pretty bad by another dog. This is what happens when shelters are over packed.
Thank goodness Releashed Rescue saw how special Markus truly is just like we did and did not hesitate to step up for him!
What I have learned about him:
🦴 he is true to his husky genes by being super playful and silly
🦴 loves his people wholeheartedly! So much that he loves to lean on you whenever you’re around
🦴 hates to dine alone. He likes to have his company right beside him as he eats. He also likes to lay down as he eats as well.
This is the start of his journey to his happy ever after! We would love for you to come along with us to help this boy!

The way the adoption works is you complete an application, which we review. If you have had previous pets (like a cat or other dogs) we do a vet check to ensure they are up to date on shots etc. Then the last step is a home visit to basically ensure there are no obvious dangers for the dog in the home. The fee is $100.

More about this rescue
Releashed Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing working dogs from high-kill shelters, rehabilitating those that need training and rehoming them into permanent loving homes.
Releashed Rescue will provide food, shelter, basic necessities, medical treatment including shots and spay or neuter, and work to train any animal going through our program. Our goal is to find the right family to love and care for the animals for their lifetime.
Releashed Rescue has a vision of a world where animals are not killed because they are inconvenient. Instead, we hope to educate the public about pet over-population, spay , neuter, humane treatment of animals and how animals can enrich the lives of people including the elderly, children and those with disabilities.
