My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chance — Our Big-Hearted, Big-Energy Bulldog Mix!
2 years old | American Bulldog mix | Found by police in October

If you’ve walked through our kennels, you’ve probably heard Chance’s signature “wooo!” — his adorable way of saying hello to anyone who passes by. Behind that big voice is a big dog with an even bigger heart.

Chance is a high-energy boy who loves exploring, moving, and being part of the action. He’s easy to leash up, loves yard time, and enjoys those slow, gentle pets that help him settle and relax. He’s still working on his manners, but he’s smart, food-motivated, and responds best to positive reinforcement training.

What Chance Needs:

• A home familiar with American Bulldogs or large, powerful breeds
• Older kids (15+) due to his strength, energy, and occasional mouthiness
• Someone committed to teaching basic obedience and structure
• A 6-foot fenced yard to safely burn energy
• Tools like a Gentle Leader or Easy Walk Harness to help with leash pulling
• A family willing to continue practicing calm handling, sharing, and positive associations around food and toys

Chance recently had some ear discomfort, which may have affected his behavior — once he’s feeling 100%, we expect him to shine even brighter.

Dog Social Notes:

Chance can become overexcited around other dogs. During an interaction with Zuli, his enthusiasm made her uncomfortable, so he may do best as an only dog or may be dog-selective. Slow, structured introductions are a must.

What We Love About Him:

• His sweet kennel “wooo!”
• His eagerness to explore and just “be a dog”
• How he follows your lead when you change direction on walks
• His ability to relax with slow, reassuring petting
• His goofy, loveable energy

Chance is looking for a committed, knowledgeable family who will give him the structure and love he needs to thrive. With the right home, this boy is going to be someone’s absolute best friend.
