Wolfie is a 7 year old Shih Tzu with a gentle heart and a loyal spirit. This sensitive boy came into rescue after his previous home was not the right fit. He takes his “lap protector” duties very seriously and would thrive in a calm, adult only home with one or two special people to call his own who are home often to keep him company.
Wolfie did not do well with other male “in your face dogs” but does best with calm small dogs his size. He is high energy, and another dog could help him burn some energy, but he could be a solo pup just as well!
Wolfie would do best with a fenced yard or a new home who will keep a close eye (and leash!) on him. He is more active than many people expect from a Shih Tzu and regular outdoor play helps keep him happy and confident. He will also take himself for a run given the opportunity, and can be a sneaky guy to catch up to.
He has is great with leash training and enjoys walks and little adventures. Wolfie can be a bit anxious at first but once he feels safe his affectionate and devoted nature shines. His favorite place is curled up on your lap soaking up love and attention. He LOVES snuggling under the covers at bedtime and will spin in circles when he gets excited. He can also be a sassy Shih Tzu chatterbox when he knows what he wants!

Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $130.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $300.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
