Foster Update: "For my first foster experience, Little Cranberry has truly been a blessing. Though he may be around two years old, he has an abundance of puppy-like energy. When he first arrived, he was timid and unsure, but he quickly warmed up and became my constant companion, happily following me throughout my home. He is incredibly smart and curious—very much true to his terrier nature. He loves to play, especially with squeaky toys, which quickly become his prized possessions.
With consistent treat-based reinforcement, he is making great progress with house training and is beginning to learn how to walk on a leash. Cranberry thrives on routine and would excel with continued training, as his intelligence and eagerness to learn really shine through. He loves to run and think he’d do well in a home with a fenced in yard. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to have such a rewarding foster experience."

Border Tails Rescue is a licensed no-kill animal rescue and welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of stray dogs across the world, with a unique focus on Mexico. Border Tails Rescue has a physical shelter facility with dogs on site for viewing everyday. Border Tails Rescue primarily works with rural shelters across the country, including but not limited to TX, AR, AL, LA, KY, IN, and MI on a regular basis as well as CACC, Chicago’s open intake shelter. BTR is Woman-founded by Harleigh Garcia, who was 20 years old at the time. The organization was founded in December of 2019 and Border Tails Rescue is registered with Illinois Secretary of State as a non profit organization. Border Tails Rescue operates entirely on donations and adoption fees.
