History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!
A Note from the Foster: Hey there, I’m Delilah! I don’t know what it’s like in New York City but I do know what it’s like in Texas and now, the great state of Wisconsin! I’m a bit of a shy girl but once I trust you, I’ll show you my bright, shining personality! Here are my highlights:
🐾Corgi/Shepherd Mix 👌: I’m a perfect mix of shepherd looks (I mean, look at my eyebrows!) in a little corgi-sized body.
🐾Girl’s Girl 👧💅/ People-Friendly 😁👋: I can be shy at first but quickly warm up to the women I meet. I’m comfortable living with a male, but I still prefer to hang out with the ladies. After a month living with him, I’ll let my foster dad pick me up, take me outside, and even take an afternoon nap on his lap! A family who is willing to be patient with me while I come out of my shell would be great!
🐾Dog-Friendly 🐶: I LOVE my furry foster siblings! Having other dogs in the house has really boosted my confidence and shown me what it’s like to be a dog. I’m always trying to play with them and like following them around and I respond well to their cues when they want me to back off.
🐾 Low Energy 😴🦴: I still have some of that puppy energy and like to zoom around the house and play with toys, but I prefer to spend most of my day sleeping in a comfy bed.
🐾Velcro Dog 🥰: I’m OBSESSED with my foster mom. Wherever she goes, I’ll be there! If there are other people around, I’ll check on them too sometimes but I’m very loyal to my #1 person.
🐾Potty-Trained 🧻: I’m doing great with potty training! I haven’t 100% figured out how to let my family know when I need to go outside but I’m getting better at indicating if I need an extra trip outside.
🐾Crate-Trained 🏠: I’m really good about going in my crate! My foster mom is usually working for 8-9 hours during the week and I keep my crate clean the whole time. I also sleep in my crate (covered with a blanket) at night and rarely make a sound.
I’m a sweet girl with a big personality who’s a bit anxious but will show you ALL my love once I get to know you! I take a prescribed anxiety medication (and having other confident pups in my home definitely helps!) and my foster family is working really hard to help me keep getting more confident about new things. Once you earn my trust, I’m super sweet, affectionate, and playful and would love to be a part of your family!
