My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rescued as a tiny kitten after his Mom and siblings were killed by coyotes on someone's front lawn. He was the only survivor....

We rescued Chi this summer after the rest of his family was killed by coyotes. For the first few days under the care of our fosters, he was scared and uninterested in interacting. But after a single scritch behind the ears, all of that changed. Suddenly he was purring, head-bonking and playing, discovering Churu and his own shadow, and he hasn’t looked back. A typical morning with Chi begins with an enthusiastic greeting from him. If you crouch down, he’ll hop up and perch on your leg, purring loudly enough to make his entire body vibrate. After that, it’s playtime — and this little dude plays hard. He climbs, parkours, chases ping-pong balls into corners and wrestles with his toy mouse. Now, he’s looking to bring his positive outlook on life to your home.

Additional adoption info

Black cats are half as likely as other cats to be adopted from shelters.

Black cats are considered bad luck because of ignorance and superstition.

Black cats are often passed over because they don't photograph well, but they are beautiful in person

Having black fur is a death sentence for most black cats

Black cats are just as lovable and deserving of homes and families as all other cats
