My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! I’m Unagi, a lively little guy named after the tasty eel. I’m curious, clever, and full of energy. There’s always something new I want to investigate, climb, or chase! I love playful antics and interactive toys, but I’m also sweet and love gentle attention from my humans. I’d do best in a family who can give me plenty of playtime, mental stimulation, and affection, and in return I’ll be a loyal, loving, and entertaining little companion who keeps life fun. More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
