My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little girl came to rescue from a chihuahua breeder who had all dogs removed. Norma has arrived from alabama as of 12/15 she will need a couple weeks to decompress. She is shy and wary of people right now, so we will see how she unfolds.
NOrma is now in a pen with Sadie belle. She will be fine with another dog once she gets to know them. THey play together and tug with toys. Norma has allowed petting under the chin and does wag her tail slightly when she is addressed. She will not come to you or allow full petting or being picked up at this time. Her desensitization to people will be a slow process and you will need to be patient. THere is a lovely dog in here that wants to trust people, she just needs time. If you are that patient person and can allow her to blossom at her own pace you may be the right person. She is pad trained, we have not been able to eval her leash skills yet. Norma is being fostered in Bradenton. If you are interested please put an app in. This is not a ready made cuddly dog so check out our other dogs if that is what you are interested in..

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Go meet their pets

Since all rescue dogs live in foster homes, there is no single facility to meet pups.

You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog after you have an approved app on file. Apps can be filled out at ewenityfarm.org

More about this rescue

We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.

It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
