My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Bodhi is a handsome senior boy who is looking for a new home and family to call his own. In the meantime, Bodhi is in one of our NJ foster homes being cared for and loved.  Bodhi was surrendered to the NYC shelter system when his owner became too ill to continue caring for him.  This little, 16 lb boy recently arrived in NJ and initial observations are that he is very sweet and curious.  Bodhi is fully house trained, loves going on walks and is great in the car.  Bodhi just had a dental so he is good to go.  Bodhi has a heart murmur - which does need to be monitored by a veterinarian at minimum annually.  Bodhi was just groomed and looks soooo handsome. The groomer said he was so well behaved and has the softest fur she’s ever felt … like velvet. It seems that Bohdi grew up as the only dog in the home so he can be dog selective at this time .. we are working on socializing him more and getting the appropriate training.

Bodhi is microchipped and up to date on vaccines, heartworm and flea & tick preventatives. Bodhi tested negative for heartworm. His adoption fee is $300.  Please note that his listed age is what we've been told and we can't guarantee its accuracy. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

Additional adoption info

We require an application. After reviewing the application, your home sounds suitable for the personality of the animal you are looking for, then a home check and a meeting is set up. For our rescue animals an adoption donation is required. All our rescue animals are up to date on shots, heartworm tested or on preventative, dewormed frontlined and have a microchip.

More about this rescue

Wag On Inn Rescue, A NJ recognized 501(C)3 organization, located in Freehold, NJ, is a small group of dedicated volunteers, trying to rehome dogs and cats. We have a variety of animals looking for their forever home. The animals are worked with individually to be socialized with other animals and with people. Some of the dogs are obedience trained and housebroken. Special care is also taken in working with animals on basic house manners. We have two types of ways we help the animals. One is our rescue program, where we pull animals from shelters and they stay with us until adopted, we also have a "referal program" where we help owners of pets try to find them new homes. with this program, the pets stay with their owners until a new home is found, and adopted from the owner.
