My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jack! The cutest, three-year-old, 78-pound Boxer and Pointer mix! This sweetheart was originally rescued from an unfortunate situation where he was treated poorly. He was taken in for two years by a very friendly family with children and lots of other dog friends. They can no longer care for Jack, so this amazing boy is ready to make a new family very lucky! Jack loves all people, especially children, and gets along well with other dogs. He can be a little bit afraid of very dominant dogs, but just needs time to grow comfortable. Jack is fully potty trained, kennel trained, and knows all of his basic commands. He`s a playful guy who loves all sorts of toys, and has a silly habit of carrying his food dish around. Jack is a certified snuggler who loves his people so much. He`ll make for a loyal and loving companion.

Jack is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can visit him at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

More about this shelter

OUR MISSION

We strive to ensure a safe, healthy, and loving environment that will provide temporary shelter for abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals and to find each animal a new and prosperous home.

OUR STORY

The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
