Lucy is a playful puppy with a resilient heart and a bright future. She and her brother were found in a roadside ditch near Gallup, NM. Her start was rough and she is learning to trust again and warms up more and more to her foster mom every day. Lucy loves to play, especially her signature game of “come and get me,” trotting away proudly as if she’s invented her own style of fun. Around older dogs, she happily plays the submissive little sister and reads dog body language well, making her a delightful playmate.
She’s a smart girl who has excelled at crate training, and while potty training is still in progress, she’s getting the hang of it little by little. Lucy is highly treat-motivated, which makes her a great candidate for continued, positive training. Like any young pup, she still mouths and chews, so families with children will need to supervise interactions and be committed to helping her learn appropriate behaviors.
Lucy is fostered in Woodland Park, CO.
Lucy loves chewing on bones, exploring new things, and showing off her speed and confidence during play. She will thrive in a home that can provide patience, structure, affection, and consistency as she grows into the incredible dog she is meant to be. With love and guidance, Lucy will blossom into a loyal, playful, and deeply bonded companion.
