My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently located at our Chrisney, IN location

Meet Penig!
Penig is a sweet hound girl who came into our care as a stray. She may be a little nervous when meeting new people or entering new situations, but once she realizes she’s safe, her true personality shines.

And when it does—get ready for the sweetest affection. Penig quickly becomes clingy in the most endearing way, often wrapping herself around you like she’s giving a big doggy hug. She loves being close to her people and will happily soak up all the comfort and love you offer.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will stick by your side (literally!), Penig could be the perfect match.

Interested in meeting her? Submit an adoption application at ITVrescue.org!

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
