My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Doober but we call him Waylon:

`Waylon is a one-year-old sweetheart with a gentle, submissive temperament and the softest caramel-brown “fudge brownie” coat to match his warm personality. Newly rescued and only briefly at PACC before entering his foster home, he’s proven to be an incredibly easy, peaceful companion. Waylon is fully housebroken, quietly signaling at the door when he needs to go out, and he walks beautifully on leash—never pulling, always happy to stroll and smell, and easily redirected when needed. He is crate trained, calm when left alone for short errands, and is already learning basic commands like “sit,” offering it more and more on his own when treats appear. His eyes tell you everything: he adores connection, wants to belong, and is ready to give his whole heart to his person.

With other animals, Waylon is respectful and mellow. He lives peacefully with his six-year-old bully-breed foster sister, politely stepping away from rough play and sharing toys with gentle boundaries. He’s shown no reactivity around other dogs, large or small, and has even done well with a 10-year-old child and a rambunctious young puppy. Though he hasn’t met cats yet, his calm nature suggests he’d approach them with quiet curiosity rather than chase. Inside, his activity level is low-moderate; he enjoys window-watching, gentle exploring, and keeping his foster close. Outside, he loves park time, has recently begun learning fetch, and will make a wonderful hiking buddy with his love of climbing and his steady, relaxed pace.

Above all, Waylon is affectionate in the sweetest ways. He loves to gently place his front paws on your chest to gaze into your eyes, curl up beside you when he naps, or lay his head on your shoulder or chest in quiet moments. Sometimes he even offers a soft, nose-to-nose boop just to feel close. Toys aren’t his priority—company is his favorite thing in the world—and he lights up when returning home from walks, bouncing with excitement and gratitude. Waylon would thrive in a patient, nurturing home that uses positive reinforcement and understands that trust and training grow with consistency. For someone seeking a gentle, submissive, pure-hearted companion—a true diamond—Waylon is it. He’ll be neutered on December 17th and is ready to share his love, loyalty, and peaceful presence with the adopter who chooses him.`
