Hello everyone. Meet Geezer and Grover, a bonded pair of senior Chihuahua mixes, dumped inside a fenced-in pool area at an apartment complex in San Antonio, Texas. It’s a miracle neither one fell in the pool and drowned, since they were both in very poor shape, emaciated, and trying desperately to drink water from the pool. They had missing fur and crusty skin, mostly along their backs and tail, from chronic fleas and itching. Geezer also had a massive hernia on his bottom and is missing most of his teeth. Thankfully, 4 Little Paws Rescue got hold of them, and their road to recovery began. Right away, both boys had special medicated baths, vaccines, neuters, and a much-needed hernia repair for Geezer. A few weeks later, they are healthy and happy and are ready to find a wonderful home to spend their golden years, although they are nowhere near ready for retirement!!
I’m Grover. I’m about 10 years old, weigh 15 lbs, and I have adorable squatty legs and a happy little trot when I walk! I am a sweet and active little guy who loves squeaky toys and affection, sitting in your lap, getting pets and kisses. I get along great with other dogs and enjoy dog walks with my pack of doggy friends, but I’m not very playful. I am more the “hang out” with my doggy friends kind of guy. I am housebroken and know how to use a doggy door. I eat my kibble fast, so I use a puzzle bowl/slow-feeder. I only bark to alert, and although right now I sleep in a crate, I would probably be in heaven if I’m allowed to snuggle in bed with you!
Geezer and I depend on each other for support and company. Parted, we anxiously pace and cry while looking for each other. We are relaxed and happy when kept together, and we are the best of friends!! "We believe a wonderful future lies ahead, so make our doggy dreams come true and inquire about us today!
The adoption fee is $400 for the pair.
* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
