Meet Monty!

Monty is a handsome, very big boy with the best teddy-bear energy you could imagine. He arrived at MAR as a feral cat, but it didn’t take long for everyone to realize he is extremely friendly, loving, and eager to connect with humans.
Monty previously struggled with entropion, a condition where his eyelids rolled inward and irritated his eyes. Thanks to corrective surgery, he is healing well and feeling better every day. With his eyes on the mend, his sweet personality is shining even brighter.
This lovable guy enjoys cuddles, leans in for pets, and gives enthusiastic head butts when he wants more attention. He absolutely loves treats and will come running from anywhere in the house the moment he hears the treat bag shake.
Monty also enjoys sitting at the window, watching birds, squirrels, and all the outdoor action. It’s one of his favourite calm-time activities.
Monty is incredibly affectionate with people, but his previous foster found that he does not play well with other cats or dogs. Because of this, it is mandatory that Monty be the only pet in his forever home.

We are a volunteer-based, donation-only service that provides adoption services for people who are looking for a new furry addition to their family. We also provide non-judgemental, supportive help for people who are surrendering their companion animals.
We provide free advice and suggestions to people who are experiencing issues with their pets, including but not limited to behavioural issues, training advice, surrender help, and much more: spay/neuter education, advice and referrals.
We have a screening process that includes an application, telephone screen and a virtual home visit to make sure the people are "as good as they sound on the phone". We also contact their vet and do a reference check.
