My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET MAPLE!

Maple is a friendly, young guinea pig who previously lived with a whole herd of piggie pals! Since guinea pigs are social animals who thrive on companionship, she’ll need a buddy in her new home. She would love to join a family that has a guinea pig friend waiting at home, but she would simply be thrilled to be adopted with one of her sisters! Thyme, Maple, Fern, and Sage are all currently living together and are truly the best of friends! If you`re looking for a new furry friend (or two...or FOUR!), come meet Maple and her adorable sisters here at our Boston shelter!

For more information on Maple or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.

Additional adoption info

The Animal Rescue League of Boston is committed to matching adoptable animals with a permanent home. Our conversation-based, application-free adoption process is designed so that the needs of both the animal and the adopter are understood and compatible with one another. We require the following as part of the adoption process:
* Adopter must be 18 years of age or older
* Have a conversation with an ARL adoption counselor
* A photo of the cage your pet will live in, if adopting a small animal or bird

More about this shelter

Pets are family. This belief is at the heart of everything we do at the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

We are the first female-founded animal welfare organization in Massachusetts and are proud to carry on a legacy of kindness and compassion, helping more than 20,000 animals annually since 1899.

Recognized for our innovative, award-winning programs that go beyond sheltering, we address the root causes of the issues facing animals and the people who love them.

By partnering with communities, we help animals heal and thrive, keep pets and people together, and protect animals from harm.

Because there is no government funding for this important work, animals must rely on people like you to get the care they need, when they need it most, 365 days a year.
