Alfred is a smart, active, and incredibly sweet boy who's eager to learn and loves having a job to do. He's fully housetrained, knows several words (especially "treat" and "food"), and will do just about anything for a piece of cheese.
He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he warms up, he's loyal, affectionate, and very devoted. Alfred is social with other dogs, does well with cats, and enjoys playing fetch, zooming around the yard, and keeping watch from his favorite window.
Athletic and graceful, Alfred runs like a gazelle but is just as happy soaking up ear scratches and butt rubs. With his brains, heart, and personality, he's ready to be a wonderful companion for the right family. 🐾 Primary Color: Brown Weight: 63.4 Age: 1yrs 8mths 4wks

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 kittens up to 6 months
$120 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
