Watch Daxx play!
Daxx is a friendly, goofy young dog who loves all people and enjoys the company of other dogs. He is good with children over eight, adult women, and dogs of all sizes. He has not been evaluated with adult men or cats. Daxx does best with a doggy door and will alert or vocalize mainly when confined or in his kennel. He has periods of high energy followed by relaxed downtime.
He is crate trained and settles well once calm. Daxx enjoys toys, car rides, and cuddling, and he can be both playful and gently independent. He loves roughhousing with active dogs, then curling up next to his person for companionship. He rarely barks and would make a great family dog or a companion for a single person who already has another playful dog.
Daxx was found as a stray alongside several small pugs. He is still in his chewing stage and will need plenty of appropriate chew items. He is eager to please and benefits from basic training. He is growing quickly and is expected to be a larger adult. Although he may steal a sandal here and there, he listens when corrected and responds well to redirection. He respects older dogs and seeks out other playmates if they are not interested. He can use steps to get onto furniture and shows no aggression when corrected by other dogs.
He may vocalize briefly when first kenneled or when he sees you return home, but he settles. Daxx thrives on social interaction and should go to a home with another playful dog. Because he is still teething and learning not to mouth arms, a home without children under eight is recommended until he matures.
Daxx is from Texas.
